比起<Giving Tree>, 我更喜歡 <The Missing Piece> 及 其後續<Missing Piece Meets the Big O>.兩本書都很簡單, 只需15-20分鐘便看完. 我已重看很多次,但每次我會對它某一段某一節,有不同的感受.

<The Missing Piece> 《失落的一角》

他缺了一角，他非常不快樂。他動身去找他那失落的一角。
他邊滾動著身，邊哼著歌曲：哦，我要去找我那失落的一角，我要去找我那失落的一角，啦啦嚕嚕.....上路啦，去找我那失落的一角。
謝爾以簡鍊生動的線條和文字，闡述一則有關「完美」和「缺陷」的寓言。

我本身都是個追求完美的人,對自己對他人都很嚴格. 在[九型人格]中,我是[1號仔] The Reformer [完美型]. 幾年前, 當我第一次看時, 我印象最深是以下幾句.
'And because it was missing a piece
It could not roll very fast
So it would stop to talk to a worm
Or smell a flower and sometimes it would pass a beetle
And sometimes the beetle would pass it
And this was the best time of all.’

當他找到missing piece之後, it complete and rolls fast.
‘So fast that it could not stop to talk to a worm or smell a flower
Too fast for a butterfly to land’

最後,他放下missing piece,再次很開心slowly rolling.
有時,人有些缺點反而更開心.

當完美的時候, 失去的會更多.

the missing piece除了關於[完美]外,還有其他的
第二次看時,以下幾句令我最深刻,也讓我想起張國榮的[追].可能是剛有1位好友失戀.
I am  not your missing piece
I am nobody's piece
I am my own piece
And even though I was somebody's missing piece
I don't think I'd be yours

跟住他繼續尋找missing piece,有時太大,有時太小. 即使找到perfect fit.
but it didn't hold it tightly enough and lost it
another time it held it too tightly and it broke

我們的感情路上都是尋尋覓覓. 雖然, The Missing Piece 是兒童檜本,但我覺得更適合成人看.
